Hello friend! I hope you are having a great 2018 so far. I’ve been busy at home decorating my bedroom (I’ll share some photos when I’m done). I’m also leisurely putting together some winter outfits for when I go back to work (currently on a stay-cation, yay!). One of my favorite winter looks is a sweater dress and booties outfit. So let me share my current one with you.
Sweater Dress and Booties: The Sweater Dress
My dress is the Kimmy sweater dress in song bird (C/O Leota Dresses). It is a relaxed-fit shift style dress.
It is a pretty gray with white birds. I have always adored animal prints, therefore this dress called to me right away.
The Kimmy sweater dress is a cotton/spandex blend that is machine-washable. It’s a pullover style, so the spandex helps with that.
Sweater Dress and Booties: The Booties
The second half of my sweater dress and booties combo is obviously the booties. I wanted to coordinate with the dress and therefore chose to wear my Heartbreaker gray booties from the Soft Comfort collection (C/O of Camtrade Shoes). You may remember them from my duster cardigan post. I think they paired equally well here. Like I said in that post, I love the zipper detail of these booties.
Sweater Dress and Booties: The Accessories
Because I love pairing blush and gray, I had to do it again here. It’s just such a good color combination in the winter, don’t you think?
For the first option, I paired the gray sweater dress and booties with a blush pink (faux) leather jacket (similar one, another one on sale, suede option). The color scheme is apparent and beautiful.
Another option is foregoing the jacket and instead relying on my purse (smaller option, cute satchel, classic tote and many more options below) and necklace to bring in pops of blush. Because these items are smaller pieces than a jacket, it’s best to use a couple of “pops” to highlight the intended color combination.
Shop some blush pink purses:
Of course with cooler weather, you can easily layer up with tights (I would choose ivory or black) and a cozy blush pink scarf to get a similar effect. You can choose a solid scarf like this one, or go bold with a second print (you’d make me so proud)! Either a subtle plaid like this one or this one will work, as well as a bolder print like this blush leopard print scarf (I definitely need it, thanks Loft)!
Any way you style it, a sweater dress and booties is a quick and easy way to looked pulled together. Will you give it a try?
