Hello friend! As I’ve been preparing for some spring style posts (stay tuned for my spring trends mega post), I came upon this fringed tweed pencil skirt at Anthropologie. Because I love tweed, I was immediately smitten. Also, because fringe is in style for spring, I decided this skirt would be a great winter to spring transition piece. Let me show you how to style a fringed tweed pencil skirt.
If the skirt isn’t for you, this fun style also comes in a blouse, jacket, coat and A-line skirt options. I tried really hard to buy the jacket instead, but in the end I had to give in and get the skirt. What can I say…I like what I like!
Fringed Tweed Pencil Skirt: Style Discussion
As I alluded to above, fringe is “hot” for spring. Unfortunately, fringe can sometimes look sloppy and un-polished. Therefore I often shied away from it. But once I saw this skirt, my mind was forever changed. Because tweed is such a classic fabric, it balances out the whimsy of the fringe. Thus allowing you to wear this skirt to the office.
Fringed Tweed Pencil Skirt: Fit Review
The quality of the fringed tweed pencil skirt is superb. It is made by Maeve, which is an Anthropologie house brand. The colors of the tweed include blue, mustard yellow, red, pink, green and ivory, even the zipper has a green ribbon attached (I love such details😍). Therefore this skirt can easily pair with tons of items already in your closet (and mine 😁)! The cut is as expected: a true pencil skirt. The fringe starts at the knee, so overall the skirt looks like it is just below-the-knee. As far as sizing goes, I think it is true to size.
Fringed Tweed Pencil Skirt: My Outfit
Because there was a predominantly green color in the skirt, I decided to pair it with a green blouse. I chose a polka dot one for a fun whimsical print.
Because I knew I wanted to bring in a second color (I mean, the multiple colors in the tweed simply beg for it), I turned to pink. I often pin looks with green and pink (check out my color combination board on Pinterest). So I decided I would go ahead and try that color combo here. Therefore I added my pink pumps. I really like the combination together, I feel a color crush post coming on!
For accessories I stuck to classic pieces to balance out the details of the outfit. Therefore I slipped on my favorite new hoop earrings, also from Anthropologie. Then I added some fun with this white collar necklace from Sugarfix by Baublebar. Last I added a timeless flap bag in black to anchor the entire look.
