Hello friend! Ever since my first red stripes and leopard print post, I have been obsessed with this combination. I have even purchased a few more red striped items, particularly summer pieces. Therefore I want to show you more examples of red stripes and leopard print outfits. This time around however, I am focusing on just the red stripes and leopard print, without also requiring denim and tan.
Ruffled Red Stripes and Leopard Print
A bold way to wear red stripes and leopard print is to bring in large elements of each print. For example, in this outfit, I am wearing a red striped top with a leopard print skirt. Although both items are standout and bold, they still go together. That’s because the stripes are thin and wide, while the leopard print is smaller and more dense. See my pattern mixing 101 post for more information.
I love the way this outfit turned out. I wore it to a conference last May. To make it more work appropriate, I had simply topped it with a cardigan. Then when happy hour time came, I took off the cardi and I was ready!
Office Red Stripes and Leopard Print
An understated way to wear red stripes and leopard print to work is to keep one of the prints limited to a small item of clothing. For example in this look, I chose to wear the leopard print in a belt. Now the contrast is not as large as in the first look. It’s almost demure!
I paired the two prints with a ruffled chambray top. Chambray pairs well with everything. It is always a go-to for me when I am pattern mixing or styling a new item.
Casual Red Stripes and Leopard Print
Because my original inspiration was with denim, I decided to do an outfit with the summer equivalent of jeans: cut-off shorts. I paired it with my off the shoulder ruffle top and a leopard print scarf and I am set!
When I was putting this outfit together, I didn’t have a leopard print scarf in the size that I wanted. I searched high and low and still could not find one. Then I had an A-ha moment!
I simply went to the fabric store and picked out a good leopard print fabric. Then I took that fabric along with a square scarf I already owned to my tailor. She used my own scarf as a template and quickly whipped a similar one out of the leopard print fabric. Now I had the perfect size leopard print scarf. And it was so cost effective! Try that next time you can’t find the exact size scarf you want.
Flirty Red Stripes and Leopard Print
Another summer mainstay item is the denim skirt. For that reason, I’ve been wearing my skirt often this season. Therefore I had to create another outfit with the skirt. I chose to pair it with a long-sleeve off the shoulder top because I wanted some more coverage with so much of my legs showing. Furthermore, this would be a good look for the beach where it could get chilly.
This time around, I moved the leopard print to my feet by wearing my leopard print Gigi sandals. It’s another subtle way to bring in the leopard print.
As you can see, it is truly so easy to pair red stripes and leopard print together. I hope you give it a try yourself! If you enjoyed this post, please share the link on your Facebook!
